Found a couple of nice Smart Car adverts I thought I would share with you.

Very smart indeed.

Old Spice taking over the Internet

It seems wherever I turn at the moment I am graced with a new Old Spice advert. However I am not complaining the campaign is nothing short of perfection!

Ok so this is the original advert from February 2010…

Currently its been viewed by almost 13 million people and that is only in the last 5 or so months.

The next step in the path to taking over the Internet occured yesterday, as Old Spice begin delivering personal video replies to tweets (and now even YouTube and Facebook comments)! Hows that for real time networking?

Yep, if you have tweeted about Old Spice, chances are you might have an @reply with a custom made video just for you.

Here’s just a few examples:

On Twitter, rosemcgowan wrote “I like it too! @Oldspice I told my husband I have a crush on you. Oddly, he started using the oldspice deodorant. (via @Alyssa_Milano)”

On Twitter, jsbeals wrote “@OldSpice Can U Ask my girlfriend to marry me? Her name is Angela A. Hutt-Chamberlin #Johannes S. #Beals”

Get in on the action by tweeting @oldspice and you might be lucky enough to get a custom video reply.

Subscribe to the YouTube channel here http://www.youtube.com/user/oldspice they are adding new videos by the second…well actually almost 120 videos in the last 24 hours alone, with each and everyone one a strategic response to a tweet or YouTube or Facebook comment.

This definitely on of the best social meets viral strategy I’ve seen, and certainly my favourite. Using the powering of social networking they have managed to get people talking about their brand all over the interweb efficiently and effectively by recording personalised videos for hundreds of tweeps. Bravo.

This site has also just been created:

http://oldspicevoicemail.com

Which allows you to create your own customisable Old Spice man voicemail message. Created by @chriswastaken I can imagine he will be getting a far few more followers in the coming hours! Again bravo

Dating Brian

Brian’s a single guy, fresh in NYC by way of Wisconsin. He’s looking for a date. So why not crowdsource a matchup?

Meet Brian. He’s from Wisconsin, has almost no experience dating and just moved to New York City. With more than half of New Yorkers single, the dating scene is just ridiculous.

So Brian is taking the plunge and going on 30 dates in 30 days. But part of the challenge is that he’s putting it in the hands of the Internet masses: who he dates, where they go, if he should go for that kiss. Essentially, he needs your help, and he needs it bad.

He has built a nice little website and a presence across the web on Facebook and Twitter.

I hope Brian sees this! Bet you never thought a guy on the south coast of England would be blogging about this did you?

Volkswagen – Fast Lane – The Slide

Posted in Advertisement, advertising, Alternative advertising, viral by tomgooday on June 24, 2010

I really like this ‘fast lane‘ idea from Volkswagen. They’ve been doing a couple of interesting perception challenging activities lately, but this series where they offer the public a fast lane is a cracker.

If only these were installed across the capital

Computer Tan

http://www.computertan.com/

Only stumbled across this today, but it appears as if it is over a year old.

The website states:

‘ComputerTan is a revolutionary new online tanning solution.

It’s safe, it’s secure, it’s quick, it’s easy, it’s TAN-tastic!!!’

The hoax website set up by McCann Erickson for skin cancer charity Skcin that promised people they could get regular tans from their computer.

The site allows people to switch on what they expect to be a free tanning session but once the screen has converted to an array of UV bulbs users are confronted with shocking images and facts about skin cancer as well as a link to Skcin’s website for more information.

The hoax launched on February 3 2009 and received more than 30,000 hits in the first 24 hours and over 1 million hits in the first two months.

What an excellent approach to help raise awareness of the dangers of skin cancer…

Those crazy Japanese (that is meant affectionately) pull out some more twitter craziness!

Have a try with your twitter ID or a keyword. Basically creates a collection of tweets from people you follow and displays them in them in a crazy parade. Nice, but a bit out there!
